Mill Levy

This group was responsible for coordinating DPS and DCTA leadership regarding the mill levy.  The Denver Board of Education authorized a mill levy election on November 1, 2005, to raise an estimated $25 million annually for ProComp.  Voters passed the mill levy by a 58% to 42% margin.

As a result, Denver home owners can expect to see a modest increase of only $2 per month for each $100,000 of actual home value.  The money raised by the election will be placed in a secure and stable trust fund governed by an independent board and can only be used for teacher salaries.  The trust fund will be governed by a group of teachers, administrators and community leaders.
