Professional Development Units
This work group develops the rules and systems that explain how teachers will earn Professional Development Units within the broader text of the DPS Best Practice Initiative. A field test is being conducted during the 2005-2006 school year.
More than 250 teachers and Student Services Professionals (SSPs) submitted proposals that were accepted to earn Professional Development Units during the field test. An overview of the PDU process gives key milestones this school year. Participants completed surveys that gave Work Group members feedback on their experiences. A handbook contains requirements and sample PDUs for the field test.
