Q. What safeguards are included to ensure that ProComp keeps political affiliations and favoritism from driving raises?
A. The Transition Team composed of teachers and administrators will develop, implement and evaluate a transition plan for ProComp. The Team will ensure that the administration of the system is conducted according to the agreement and that D.C.T.A. is involved in all aspects.
Q. Will teachers not opting-in have their salary “cost of living” increase negotiated?
A. Yes, D.C.T.A. negotiates Cost of Living Adjustments with D.P.S.
Q. Does the old pay plan stay in effect for teachers who do not opt-in?
A. Yes. The old pay system will remain in effect as long as there are teachers working under it.
Q. Who will negotiate for all the benefits for the teachers who opt-in to ProComp?
A. D.C.T.A. will negotiate for teachers who opt-in or choose not to opt-in.
Q. Since benefits (medical, vision, dental) are going sky high, how is this going to be funded in the future?
A. Benefits will continue to be an aspect of compensation negotiations facilitated between D.P.S. and D.C.T.A.
Q. What latitude does the school board have to change how incentives are allocated across the four components?
A. This topic would be an aspect of negotiation between D.P.S. and D.C.T.A.
