Professional Development at a Glance
The ProComp Key Communicators course addresses two district goals. 1.) The ProComp Key Communicators course will develop “highly skilled and empowered staff.” 2.) The ProComp Key Communicator course will develop “highly skilled instructional leaders.” Among the benefits are:
ü A large group of trained ProComp Key Communicators can correct misconceptions about the system by providing specific, timely information.
ü Trained Key Communicators can help change the culture of Denver Public Schools to one that encourages employees to continuously improve their professional practice to meet the needs of students more effectively.
ü The key communicators can help create capacity in Denver Public Schools (DPS) to utilize the best practices that are being developed in ProComp for objective-setting, professional evaluation and professional development units.
ü Key communicators will be conveniently located in their work setting to answer questions and facilitate discussions.
Participants must complete all assigned readings and participate in class discussions. They must also complete a summary of school/department meetings related to ProComp and present an individual representation of work in the final class. The reading list includes:

The Key Communicator training is offered as on a simple pass/fail basis in which the instructor and peers will assess participant performance.
